dxm: Other than my socialist leanings which naturally makes me a Democrat because there is no ”Socialist” party, and I would nationalize all public services; housing, home heating, utilities (including telephones – I would resurrect a nationalized Ma Bell – those were the days! combined with Western Electric, for the consumers, American Telephone and telegraph (AT&T) was the best telephone service in the world, and I would nationalize energy (oil gas and nuclear power), health care, food, drugs (recreational and medicinal), and I would nationalize transportation; the airlines, trains (passenger, freight and municipal railways), so it isn’t a matter of bias with me on anything I write, it is a matter of philosophy on everything I write if and as there appears to be a particular slant, I say slant hell! There is no ”slant” to speak of. Without being called upon to do so, I already am more journalistically objective than any ”fair witness” Robert Heinlein could have ever invented. This is especially true when I am speaking or writing about Iran and the Iranian people who I have dearly loved since the Imam’s ousting of the Shah and #USUKI from the world stage of unquestioned imperialistic hegemony, and Mexico and Mexicans, because of our proximity to Mexico, where I traveled extensively in my late teen, Kerouac and beatnik years, and growing up with Mexicans in Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley, and when I am speaking or writing about Los Angeles, and the 22 cities that make up what L.A. is, and the ”Angelenos” therein and thereabouts. The same is true in my writings about California history and the timeline in the direct lead-up to Jesse Unruh at California’s political helm; through the Mayor Sam Yorty and Governor (Edmond G.) ”Pat” Brown years, but which from the Proposition 13 and Howard Jarvis era also included then aka Governor Moonbeam (and Linda Ronstadt), and Jerry Brown, California’s present governor. My dad, a lifelong Democrat, loved Jerry Brown, and had he lived, he would have voted for him over Bill Clinton in the Democratic primaries. Also stuck right in there somewhere like a knife in the back of California history and politics was the political wonk Gray Davis episode, a tragically stupid inside baseball story no matter how you slice it that brought Arnold Schwarzenegger to govern California. The point is is that on some things bias has nothing to do with anything, and that only when what is happening matters; the story must be truly told as was thoroughly sorted out by Salman Rushdie in Shame, in his explaining how stories about the family are to be told by members of the family. No exceptions; no optional variations or variables. That, BTW, Shame (the book) is partly the why of Imam Khomeini’s fatwa. The hypocrite (Rushdie, a Muslim) didn’t follow the well understood teachings, even of his own book. It is said that a guy could get his tongue cut out for failing to recite The Recital exactly as it was originally heard and said, and written. I said all that to say this: Iran’s Press TV (at this writing, and about Romney’s Killer of Americans article) is free of governmental, clerical and IRGC influence. Iran’s Press TV is more ”free press” than the US press that self-censors in order to remain in the good graces of the 1% domestically and Israel’s Zionist Likud, so I find the Kevin Barrett piece to be dead-on-balls accurate and factual and as close to true as journalism can get. The American people were told that the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks had been “taken out.” Revenge had been exacted; justice had been served. Right?
Wrong. The real perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks are still at large. And what’s worse is that they control most of the United States Federal Court system and mainstream media, and are running the campaign of presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
