Take Action: 6 hours, 41 minutes ago · ViewPublic Citizen – Hold Chevron Accountable
At the peak of the 2012 elections, Chevron dumped $2.5 million into a super PAC devoted solely to running negative ads against Democrats seeking election to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Chevron’s super PAC spending, enabled by the Supreme Court’s disastrous Citizens United ruling, will further entrench politicians who deny the existence of climate change and refuse to cut corporate welfare. Such political positions create the conditions for Chevron’s record profits, even as they destroy the conditions for life on Earth.
Chevron’s spending was a business investment, made because GOP hard-liner positions — like denying climate change and subsidizing Big Oil — create the conditions for Chevron’s record profits (even as they threaten the conditions for life on Earth).
Chevron’s spending also appears to be illegal.
Earlier this week — with allies at Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and Oil Change International — Public Citizen filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission.* It appears that Chevron may have violated laws designed to prevent corruption in the federal contracting process, which prohibit contractors from directly or indirectly supporting candidates for elected office.
Demand that Chevron keep its corporate profits out of the people’s politics.

it does not take an engineer to see the infrastructure is falling apart i had a friend who used to play music with us lose his life because of the claiborne bridge collapsing. a few years back i had went to pittsburg and the roads were horrible. there is no reason we do not have a high speed railway system in this country other than greed by the oil companies.the high speed railway system would be SO much more efficient that the airways and a whole lot cheaper and faster, not to mention the savings on cost and enviroment..

Listing the Sins: 4 days, 15 hours ago · ViewOh HOW funny! ”Outrageous” tax cheats – Now some of these are low but when u compare these to the GAZILLIONS hidden in offshore accounts (to CHEAT paying the taxes), these seem TAME in comparison
http://money.cnn.com/gallery/pf/taxes/2013/05/20/tax-cheats/index.html
I think what bothers me the most is that the IRS is going after these ”outrageous” tax cheats while the others are ignored!
you are right about that everyone i know do not have any or hardly any disposable income left when the irs gets through with them. when general electric only pays 3.4 cents on the dollar the working man pays 35 cents on that same dollar something is wrong with that picture. and that does not take in the individuals who park their money in overseas accounts. good on alison.
wow i just got through looking at the site and why even bother these people, sure they had a little bit of money but to bother these people when they could go after the gazilionaires who are the real tax cheats but not only that they are the ones hurting america the most by shipping jobs overseas, paying the workers they do have here as little as possible and in many cases will not even give them a full time job just so they can save money on insurance and other benefits. it sure was a bunch of doofuses in that group though, something what greed does to people.

Another 200.000 pr more protesters are, according to organizers in Germany expected to join the worldwide protest rallies.
The transnational biotechnology colossus is among other accused of genetically engineering agriculture and food while ignoring the potentially lethal ramifications, the risks for the environment, the devastating consequences for local farmers and communities, and the devastating social consequences.
March Against Monsanto has taken the initiative to raise awareness about the lack of action from national governments and activists have prepared protest marches in major cities, including Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Chicago, Melbourne, Montral, Moscow, New York, Paris and many other major cities. The main focus will be on the lack of government action and the demand to ban Genetically Engineered and Genetically Modified Organisms…”
