You’re dead on with your assessment. We did not get a Progrtessive President, but we did not get McCain, a fact I am quite grateful for(bomb bomb, bomb Iran)

Obama has already started by offering SSI, which does not contribute a penny to deficit being funded by a separate tax, for cuts via Chaiined CPI. I need to engage everyone here why the wealthy consider SSI their boogyman, a subject for future post.

We need to stay in Leadership’s face, just as we sucessfuly did with SOPA and PIPA, clearly saying No!.

Both Presidents Roosevelt (The New Deal) and Johnson (The War on Poverty) agreed with progressive policies but demanded that Congress (House and Senate) force him to enact them.

In this age of flash polling and email, we can take the place of Congress with the President in continuing to move further to the Left on social policy such as SSI and Food Stamps. We have to stay active and engaged with our Congress-Creatures and the White House. Email, tweets, phone calls, polls, every option to express yourself should be taken whenever you can.

In the 200/2004 Presidential Elections I was very discouraged by what we were forced to accept in Mr. Bush. But, America is my country and my Nation and giving up no matter the odds or opposition is not in my nature. I chose to stand and fight however I could and I continue to stand up where I can and how I can.

I hope you, here, can find the courage and strength to do the same.

Many people ask themselves if voting in elections is a good use of their time and effort. That’s a good question when partisan election managers make it hard to vote when someone lives in a particular area, like Democratic-leaning precincts, as Florida Gov. Rick Scott is doing now. It helps to consider the long-term effect [...]

During the time FL was changing the voting districts, I wondered the same thing. It was blatantly obvious that the lines being drawn for the districts was heavily influenced by political parties. So I wondered if MY vote actually mattered.

Then I took a look at the fact that I was NOT alone in my political beliefs and that as a group of like minded individuals, we COULD make a difference, regardless of the boundaries.

Point being – EVERY vote MATTERS in one way or the other!

    just days to go.

If you can vote early, do it.

If you cannot, make time in your day for the polls.

Left-leaning precincts may have a shortage of voting machines or an abundance of vote challengers.

While most states do not require government-supplied identification it is a good idea to have it handy.

Make certain that your ballot is the standard ballot and not provisional.

If anyone is acting political around the voting precinct, report it to the poll workers. That is electioneering which is forbidden by Federal Law.

Lastly, voting is a right conveyed to you by the blood of patriots shed in war and peace. Do not let their sacrifice be in vain.

Romney picks Ryan…election done except for the vote counts.

It should be very interesting, as Ryan’s already been heckled at his first post-selection campaign stop. The reports I have seen has his Wisconsin in-district approval rating at less than 20%.

He is on-record as cancelling Medicare in favor of a fixed-amount voucher program for seniors to use as part-payment when shopping for health insurance in the private market, an estimated $6,800 per year cost increase. He also supports privitizing other parts of the social safety net that we have been paying into, like SSI, to allow greater tax breaks for wealthy individuals.

After gutting most programs that benefit low-income Americans while giving richer folks $160K per year in tax breaks, Ryan’s budget would still have a $1Trillion deficit in 2020. What the Republicans consider a budget hawk,

Of course, Ryan voted for the Wars off-budget, Medicare Part D and likely every raise of the budget ceiling over the last 14 years.

His record will be his downfall, we just have to make certain everyone we know hears about it.

Speak up, folks, silence is how the ’other side’ makes gains.

yeah. file this under 2012. Romney outspent all of his rivals, so by default he became the nominee, but neither did any of those who he ”defeated” have chops enough to go toe-to-toe with Barack in the debates, as one example of who comes off as presidential, and never mind there is the reelection team of Axelrod-Messina who whoever Romney brings onboard can’t even begin to compete with. The race card is all Romney’s got, and they’ll play it in the run-up to the election. Bill and Hillary did. Mitt can’t not, and he could win with it. That is to say, Romney can’t possibly win without it. Axelrod-Messina work on that angle everyday. Do you remember when the audience cheered when Barack mentioned young Black men and bystanders shot to death in cities all around the country? They didn’t cheer because people were getting killed, but because Barack, an elected official, a politician said it out loud; acknowledging a national, and ongoing tragedy rooted in institutional racism. The wildest of the wild cards is Barack not making it to election day, but that is no guarantee either. Biden, who would likely be Barack’s last minute stand in, is white. That’s my $0.02’s worth. BTW, good seeing you here again. There aren’t so many anymore sympathetic to banning usury.

Allison, keep doing what you are doing.

Elected folks scream in terror and give up when you tell them that you know what the next trade deal really means.

We killed SOPA and PIPPA within a matter of weeks by being active and engaged with our representatives.

From my perspective, it appears the last ten years of job losses and reduced opportunity for US workers was to force us to spend all of our available time either working, caring for our families or sleeping. With that, most have no chance to fact-check Faux News while they blew smoke up your ass. From a recent survey, Faux News know less about civics and world matters than someone who watched No TV at all.

If reports are to be believed, Karl Rove (Head of Crossroads GPS SuperPac) is meeting with Presidential candidate Mitt Romney(R) in the next few days. Of course, a SuperPac is forbidden from discussing strategy or other co-operation with a candidate, so we can be confident Rove and Romney clearly have some baseball statistics to talk about.instead.

Unfortunately, even if the matter of this were brought before the Federal Election Commission tomorrow, nothing would happen before the election in November. Such is the poweer of being able to lie long enough to have an effect before paying the price.

Happily, the more people learn about Romney the less they like him.

It is going to be interesting season this time around. Will likely make 2010 look like a warm up.

My bad being away for so long…so much going on in personal life (earning a living, happily) as well as political (Twitter SirVantes137 ) that have consumed all my attention.

I’m pleased to say that letters to Congress in these last months have stopped SOPA, have stopped the XL pipeline (Though the southern leg, which will raise retail gas prices in OK by $.20-40, was approved), have reshaped the discussion about women’s reproductive rights ( one GOP voting in favor of invasive ultrasound was cut off for sex by his wife for the vote{Good Girl} )

I am inviting applications for a Co-Admin and moderator, for this group. I want to take this to the next level and I am not shy in asking for help to do that. Someone that can be direct, articulate and has a passion for the ( Independently verifyable ) truth. The person(s) chosen will need to have between 1-2 hours minimum per week to post new topics and engage readers in discussion. I would like to see some of a person’s postings, here or elsewhere to get a sense of your writing style and tone, and the ability to make the same point you started with.

If you have an interest in being a contributor and co-moderator, please reply. We need your help and will make it as easy as possible for you to give it.

All the Best, and Vote in any election you can. There may not be something you will wish to vote for but there will always be things you will wish to vote against.

          That’s just the thing, though.

These guys, the RWAs, make up about 20% of the population across the board.

When presented with ”irrefutable truths & facts that refuse to disappear,” these guys double down on their burnin’stoupid.

That is what is so maddening. They dig in even deeper and can get really juvenile if pressed. Really juvenile…

These are the guys who pepper the conversation unsolicited with red-hot-and-hours-fresh talking points disseminated to them from, you know, ON HIGH, and then when completely inundated with researched information, ”don’t want to talk about it” anymore… when they just tried to pass off some BS in public; at the water cooler, as it were…

These guys I am talking about are the Echo Chamber. Listening to the AM mayhem daytime talk, they all within 15 minutes of the host teaching them a new word or concept, they set about sniveling attacks online, unorganized but completely uniform. I can prove this on short notice anytime on any political site.

These are the people whose own opinions are handed to them outright by somebody else.

I agree; a big part of our problem is lack of information. But how do you teach the blind to see?

I agree, also; they would be super pissed and (then become) formidable (I sincerely admire their persistence) allies if they could reach a level of maturity of thought to understand that those to whom they defer all, hate them.

It’s such a straight line if only we could help people connect the dots on their own, or usurp their authorities somehow as the trusted group.

This is exactly the kind of person you are talking about. I urge everyone to read about authoritarians.

I’ve said this before, that it is a very specific charge I am leveling. I am not throwing a generic insult… Authoritarians.

There are 2 tiers; Highs and ”Double Highs.” The Highs are the Dittohead followers. The Double Highs answer all test questions the same as the obsequious followers, but they imagine themselves as the one being submitted to in all scenarios. Those guys are the Dick Armies.
