You know I can’t help it if you are that uninformed and ignorant. But for the other two people who might read this:
Madrid turned out about 40,000 protesters, helped completely disrupt the regional elections, voted out most the incumbents and got the attention of the politicians. Big deal you say, but that’s not so bad for a week’s work.

Apparently nothing, you can lead a horse to water, but can’t can’t make him drink.
I have offered the correct approach to this, use the Madrid cadre model. I have a dozen people I can bring to Philadelphia (from some distance away) as cadre if I can be assured that 200 others will be there. If not, I won’t come it’s that simple., Asking people to show up at protests without a solid cadre is an absurd approach.,

Understanding how the Madrid protest model worked as it might apply here. The key was a cadre of 200 who organized the follow through. We need to find 300 ”Spartans” completely dedicated to this from start to finish, who are a presence from the get go.
15 May: The first protest was called under the motto ”we are not goods in the hands of politicians and bankers” and was focused on opposition to what the protesters called ”antisocial means in the hands of bankers”, partly referring to the changes made in 2010 to contain the ongoing European sovereign debt crisis through bailout of the banks, which the Spanish society saw as responsible for the crisis, while at the same time the government kept announcing social program cutbacks. Protesters also demanded more democracy, a new electoral law and end to political corruption as well as other claims..
16 May: During the day, several people gathered in Puerta del Sol and decided to stay in the square until the elections of May 22. Meanwhile, 200 people started a similar action in Barcelona’s Plaça Catalunya, although police had first tried to disperse the crows. That day the tag #spanishrevolution, as well as other ones related to the protests, became a trending topic in the social-network Twitter.
17 May, at night in Puerta del Sol: Large groups of demonstrators returned to protest in various cities, standing apart from the group in Madrid in Puerta del Sol. This time the protests were not called together by ¡Democracia Real Ya!.[26] In a few cities, the police permitted the protesters to camp out, as took place in A Coruña, where more than 1,000 people arrived on 15 May.[27] In Madrid, about 200 protesters organized into an assembly, during which they decided to organize themselves for spending the night in Plaza del Sol, creating cleaning, communication, extension, materials and legal committees. Previously they had received a great deal of help from small businesses in the form of food.[28][29] In the evening more than 12,000 people were gathered there.[26]
18 May: In Madrid, the protesters put up a large carp canopy beneath which they passed out signs with the intention of spending the night there between the 17 and 18 May. According to a reporter from El País, many of them wore carnations, much as took place during the Portuguese Carnation Revolution. In addition, they organized a food stand which provided food donated by local businesses and set up a webcam to provide news from Plaza del Sol through the website Ustream.tv. The protesters were advised not to drink alcohol or to organize into groups of more than 20 people, as these acts could provoke a legal police crackdown.
And so on.

Make that six! I spent hours on trains getting there with my girlfriend. I actually brought a tent and food, which I lugged around on my back all day through NYC after seeing no action at the plaza or park. It really blows my mind that in such a massively overpopulated city so few turned out. I showed up at the plaza at about 11:30, with nothing going on I was left to speculate if things where just broken up already, but anyway… I’m glad to know somebody somewhere is trying to do something, anything!Chief Joseph ·
This breaks my heart, but exactly, great concept but poorly conceived. Madrid was a success because they had 200 people who were totally dedicated that showed up and STAYED. It grew from there over several days. I know 200 are good for this in America. You need to find those 200 people or 300 Spartans, and have them show up on SATURDAY morning, July 2 at Franklin Square in Philadelphia (a blue collar town and more symbolic) and immediately start twittering and You Tubing VISUAL messages of protest. Call it the Independence from Robber Barons rally and run it right through July 4th ( a Monday). I bet thousands would start showing up. Downtown Philadelphia has plenty of definable public spaces and squares to handled the spillover.

For me personally your causes talking points and site presentation were right on the money, and many should think likewise.
Although I hate to Monday morning quarterback from Hawaii, maybe the fact that it was NYC (the heart of the beast) and many of the people who would participate can barely afford to drive to the store let alone go to an expensive place like NYC played a factor? I know open banks were the target, but with a Tuesday venue you are taking out many folks working day. My son in DC would have gone, but he was finally lucky enough to have found a decent job and just couldn’t do this. This Tuesday venue probably was a factor.
I think rather than target banksters directly I would suggest the idea of a national revival message (take back your country from kleptocrats). I think low taxes on corporations and the super wealthy should be an issue. Both parties have sold out on that.
http://americansresistance.blogspot.com/2011/05/corporations-and-plutocrats-given-tax.htmlI would urge you to bounce back, even shame your contact list a little, then shoot for another follow up event. Go for a more blue collar city like Philadelphia and then have the audacity to do it downtown there on Saturday July 2 and try to take it through the 4th of July. Just stay put, as that gives plenty of time for a large population in the region to arrive on the scene similar to what happened in Madrid.

There are scattered reports coming in here describing maybe a dozen people at Chase and Liberty Park.
http://search.twitter.com/search?max_id=80760688640933888&page=12&q=%23OpESRNo fire in the belly, there was interest but just endless blabbing away on Twitter and Facebook, no willingness to get past handheld devices. I would have to say I am stunned and shocked. I didn’t expect mass protest but certainly 500- 1000 people at least in DC and NYC. I have no explanation for it, maybe NYC is the heart of the beast and most protesters can hardly afford to even go there let alone protest. Still maybe Lee Camp said it best, just a weak nation, with a now weak democracy.
If this had taken hold I would have flown into DC from Hawaii and stayed with my son for as long as it took. I have closed my Wells Fargo account, and my mother Bankamerica account. The later is going to fail anyway deservedly trapping all of the comatose out there. Then the protests can really begin.

https://twitter.com/#!/search?q=%23OpESR and Faceboo khttp://www.facebook.com/OpESR?sk=wall&filter=1looks to be almost totally disrupted, with the #OpESR showing messages that are either gibberish, spam, bogus redirects or junk . There was only one image, of a single ’protester” in a mask and this one really smells of pyschops. There was one other ”report” of someone claiming a dozen people showed up and he left. Are we to believe this? Almost all other communications other than those asking for reports also looked to be pyschoped and destroyed as well. I sense your communication sites have been attacked or perhaps hacked.
I am asking that anybody on the ground involved with these demonstrations give an accurate account of what actually occurred, both in terms of on the street and your over air communication attempts. It does not appear that any attempt by any actual demonstrator to tell the story ever saw the light of day. Please debrief as soon as time permits.
10 people in Chicago, I left at 1:30.
also at chiacgo. drove past saw 3 people. by the time i parked no one. sorry i missed you yobeep hope nyc fairs better

This ”Inverted Vantage” poster is more than a troll, he is a hired gun incorporating online ”persona management”. In otherwords he sits at a computer monitoring this site, and will post snide remarks designed at demoralizing or disrupting participants. Notice that he posted the comment ”why is this vital?” only one minute after I posted. Most trolls would have no ability to spot a post in one minute let alone presume to read the link I provided that would answer his very question.
Examples of Inverted Vantage persona management trolling. This is really not even a sophisticated version, that probably comes later when this movement really takes off
