The Evolution of the Butterfly

Renowned cellular biologist, Dr. Bruce Lipton narrates the process of a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly over a milieu of imagery in "The Evolution of the Butterfly". The film combines first hand footage from the Occupy Wall Street movement with stylized portraits of the recent economic collapse and gives a backdrop of hope to sometimes bleak reality.

For more information on the caterpillar and butterfly, humanity and society, see Spontaneous Evolution: Our Positive Future And A Way To Get There From Here.

The JOBS Act Is A Fraud-Enhancing Gift To Wall Street Criminals

By William K. Black, Henry N. Pontell, Gilbert Geis, Janet Tavakoli, Barry Ritholtz & Lynn A. Stout
As white-collar criminologists (and a former financial regulator and enforcement head) and experts in ferreting out sophisticated financial frauds, our careers and research focus on financial fraud by the world’s most elite private sector criminals and their political cronies. Therefore, we write to thank Congress and the President for preparing to adopt a JOBS Act that will provide us with job security for life.

$h!t Lobbyists $ay

Lobbyists write legislation, they take your representatives out to lunch, they throw fundraisers, they abide by absurdly specific rules to avoid appearance of graft and bribery, but nonetheless, Lobbyists influence your government for the benefit of corporate interests.

Greedy Bastards Antidote: Lawrence Lessig on “One Way Forward”

In a discussion on money, politics, and the growth of organic political reform movements in America over the last few years, Dylan Ratigan talks with Lawrence Lessig about his new book, One Way Forward: An Outsiders Guide to Fixing the Republic.

You can read Lessig's book here.

Obama’s Lobbying Ban Leads To More Corruption

When Republic Report launched Sell Out Of The Week, our initial winner was President Obama, who earned the prize for embracing his super PAC, essentially endorsing unlimited corporate cash invading the democratic process, after having failed to take some critical steps to clean up the system. We’ve chosen him again this week, but for a different money in politics offense.

Obama campaigned on a promise of reform and transparency, pledging as a candidate that lobbyists “will not run my White House… and will not drown out the voices of the American people.” But three years into his presidency, Obama’s lobby reform is broken. The rules once seen as revolutionary are counterproductive, meaningless, and frankly ridiculous.

This Is NOT What Democracy Looks Like! Criminalizing First Amendment Rights

If laws like the new Trespass Bill (HR 347) had been in effect during the Civil Rights movement, there would have been no March on Washington. Martin Luther King Jr. and his fellow activists would have been rendered criminals. And King's call for "militant nonviolent resistance" would have been silenced by police in riot gear.

Wall Street Whistleblowers Get the Silent Treatment From Washington

What’s worse: to be persecuted and indicted for trying to expose an act of wrongdoing -- or to be ignored for doing so? The Obama administration has set a record by accusing no fewer than six government employees, who allegedly leaked classified information to reporters, of violating the Espionage Act, a draconian law dating back to 1917. Yet when it comes to workers who have risked their careers to expose misconduct in the corporate and financial arena, the government has often left whistleblowers feeling isolated and discouraged.

Our nation’s problem is that we have a corrupt political system, on both sides of the isle. R’s and D’s alike! To vote in progressives that then become the targets of the David Koch’s of the world is wasteful and delays the real fix.

Only public funding of campaigns will get our politicians voting for the right thing rather than the favorites of their Fat Cat funders. We need a concerted effort by all progressive groups to back the Fair Elections Now bill at http://fairelectionsnow.org/about-bill

Nothing — absolutely NOTHING! — will get fixed until we get money and payola out of politics.

The comment was, people were taking their money out of banks. It wasn’t the mom and pops of the world lining up. The withdrawals were being made by bankers. Banks lend deposits back to other banks. The money supply around the world is what the banks owe the people and also what the people owe the banks. When the people that owe the banks can’t pay the banks, the banks can’t pay their liabilities. These actions are always to keep the banking scheme going. Instead of assets and liabilities, the whole system is a system of liabilities. People don’t understand credit money, even the most knowledgeable gold bug. The whole system is a line of liabilities that can only be solved by continual acquisition of the equivalent of the currency unit. Bernanke and Geithner are merely creating funds so the banks can keep writing hot checks and avoid borrowing any more of the species than they have to. QE has almost nothing to do with keeping interest rates low and all to do with keeping free money in the system to cover up the insolvencies, while the bankers continue their paper games and create pay for many of them that is geared to how much funny paper they can create. There is always a bag holder in a credit/asset bubble. Rarely is it the banker in this kind of system, where shareholders and the buyers of their products find the results lacking.

I am of the opinion that the system is irrevocably broken. There is no reforming it. There is no saving it.

I support most of what our founders did to attempt to place balances on power but, clearly, this was not sufficient. We need to wipe the slate clean.

We need a new Continental Congress and a new Bill of Rights. We need to remove ALL present elected officials and usher in new campaign controls before we elect new representatives.

We need to clean out the judiciary and dismantle the centralized media. We need to break-up the big banks and limit the shit out of the ones permitted to operate (as our Founders did). We need to severely restrict corporate power and go back to limited charters.

But in order to do this, we have to be willing to endure a great deal of discomfort. Because we have to boycot these psychopaths and peacefully demand change.

The system in place can’t work without our participation. So stop buying their stuff and head down to your local town hall and demand to be heard and do not give up until the system is changed.

    It’s that simple.

There is no reformation of a corrupt global system in terminal decline. Who can solve the Financial crisis, the Nuclear fears? Terrorism? Muslim menace? Jew-Arab problem? North, South, Korea? Iran? Egypt? Libya? and a thousand more global problems. Those that hang onto some nonsenical political awakening are deluding themselves. They believe that if they solve those on their own doorstep the world will be Ok. The reason for that mentality is that the world extends to the end of their garden. They cannot, or refuse to see that we now live in that “Global Village” where all nations have put their eggs in that global basket, and we are all going down together. It just means where are we individually on this global sinking ship, the ocean of problems usually hits the poorest first, and then the waters move up to engulf those in second and then first class in this global ship that we have built for ourselves. Make no mistake there is no escaping for any of us, not even those in first class. How do you hide from world wide radiation, from those that will kill you to survive. Are you a skilled survivalist, in good health, in the prime of life, armed, with medications for every eventuality. Man will become as rare as refined gold says the proverb. You better believe it.

We are the government. The government derives 100% of its power from us. It operates ONLY because we allow it to. We have no one to blame for the utter corruption, but our selves.

    Remember Egypt.

We need millions in the streets. If you know one of these bankers or congressmen etc. Refuse to cut their lawn. Refuse to fix their car. Deny them every service it is in your power to deny. Be relentless.

The Enemy Is Down The Street

This is an emergency message to the collective bargainers of Wisconsin. You are falling right into the divide and conquer trap that is set for you all. Please get together with your non-union compatriots, together with your fellow-members of adjacent states and turn your sights onto the enemy.
Your enemy is not governor Walker. Your enemy is not the government opposition. Your enemy is not in Wisconsin. Your enemy is not in Washington.
All these are but entities hanging from the strings being manipulated by your real enemy. This is an emergency. You must get together in the name of not only your members, but of all citizens and start walking towards New York. Your enemy is not at all the general public. New York, when you see them coming, you have all the power. These guys will be tired, so grab the baton and plow on.
From your remarkable reputation of values and determination, you could potentially gather three million supporters to walk onto Wall Street. Bring your demands onto the table of these enslaving banks. These are your enemy. These are our enemy. This is the enemy at the root of every economic dispute presently happening on this planet. Take over their Street and reclaim it. Occupy every floor of those towers. They built them with our money. They belong to us.
Just go in there peacefully, set up camp and ask J P Morgan, BoA, Citi, Wells Fargo, Wachovia and the others for the few billions that Walker needs to balance the budget, and just take it back to him. But before you leave the bank, ask them also for the money they stole that was meant to balance all local, municipal, state, and national budgets. Also don’t leave without the money this den of vipers stole from the Arab world,
the African world, the Third world, or just plainly The World. If they don’t quite have enough there on Wall Street, just move up the isle a bit and get the rest from Rockefeller. If this evil House doesn’t have quite enough at home, there is another House in Europe that could fill in the gap without even feeling the pinch. Please go to New York. That is where the enemy is. Wall Street has barricaded off every one of our Main Streets, but you can get around that. Your are demonstrating the ability to straighten this mess for one and all.
