In the days of Mother Jones, J.P. Morgan and the trusts ran the poor and what little middle class there was into the ground. They were supported both by the government and the Supreme Court, much the same as what is happening now. The only change that happened then was through the progressive movement that really wasn’t change at all, it was just enough tweaking of the system to allow everything to continue, and only the most marginal adjustments happened, but no real change to the bankrupt system. Now, we are at it again, the police support Wall street, the capitalists buy the government, the Supreme court pays homage to the wealthy at every turn and the public is suppose to take it. I think they are pushing past the point of no return. The revolution may be upon us at a moments notice. Each arrest of a protestor, each forclosure, each person who is turned out with no health insurance, no pension, no social security and no job is but a drip of water in this tortured country that will eventually release a flood gate of anger against those who hold us in bondage.It will not be contained in faux elections of people who never represent us when the chips are down. What will happen will be a tidal wave of change, some not for the best, but something different than the system that runs most of us into the ground while taking the gold and giving the rest of us the shaft.
