“Perhaps the sentiments contained in the following pages, are not yet sufficiently fashionable to procure them general favour; a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defense of custom. But the tumult soon subsides. Time makes more converts than reason.” – Thomas Paine, Common Sense
To Those Paying Attention,
You Know The Hour Is Late…
After writing dozens of reports revealing corrupt activity at the highest levels of power and detailing the breakdown of our society, I can’t bring myself to writing yet another one. How much more evidence do we really need?
To sum it up: we are witnessing the complete corruption and downfall of America.
As our descent accelerates, we need to urgently focus on reaching common ground on the root causes of our crisis. Anyone who has spent significant time researching how our system of power functions will come to three core common sense conclusions. These systemic issues must be solved before we can move forward in addressing the many problems that we are now confronted with. If we are going to get ourselves out of this crisis, we need to launch an all-out attack on these three fronts:
1) End the system of political bribery: campaign finance, lobbying and the revolving door.
The Supreme Court campaign finance ruling in favor of unlimited spending has now completely rigged our electoral system against us. As long as it costs millions of dollars to have any chance of being elected, politicians and judges will continue to act on behalf of the corporations and the richest members of society who have the most money to give to their election campaigns.
In addition to the campaign finance system, political lobbying has also become a multi-billion dollar industry that allows those with the most money to directly influence the legislative/lawmaking process. Another core element in this system of political bribery is the revolving door between Washington and the largest corporations. This revolving door gives politicians enormous economic incentive to favor corporations that they have either worked for prior to being elected and/or will work for upon leaving office.
2) Break up the banks and hold them accountable: The Federal Reserve banking system and their primary dealers (i.e. Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Citigroup, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo).
The Federal Reserve banking system operates in secrecy and works for the benefit of the biggest financial institutions at the expense of 99.9 percent of the population, as we have now blatantly witnessed firsthand. As a direct result of the deliberate actions of the Federal Reserve and the six largest banks that dominate our economic system, we now have the most severe inequality of wealth in American history.
After causing our economic crisis and taking trillions of dollars in taxpayer money and subsidies, these institutions are now making all-time record-breaking profits and handing out all-time record-breaking bonuses. Meanwhile, we have an all-time record-breaking number of Americans living in poverty and on food stamps. If we want to have economic security and prosperity, we need to have a decentralized and transparent financial system.
In the process of breaking up the banks, top executives at companies that engaged in fraudulent activity need to be held accountable and prosecuted under RICO laws.
3) Open up the mainstream media and protect Internet freedom.
Television is still the most dominant force controlling the thoughts and opinions of the masses, and now only a handful of the most powerful interconnected corporations control everything we see on TV. If we are to have an enlightened and engage citizenry, we must open up broadcast television to independent voices.
The Internet has provided us with a medium of communication where citizens can interact on a mass scale without being censored by powerful interests. However, the free flow of information on the net is quickly being co-opted by corporate elite interests as well. We must defend Internet freedom.
There are many other problems that obviously need to be addressed, but these three core systemic issues must be addressed first. No matter what issue is of most concern to you – the economy, tax system, wars, environment, healthcare, national debt, etc. – these three core systemic problems have to be solved first. Otherwise, any success will be short-lived, as those with the most money will overwhelm the political process and economic system, and launch an all-pervasive propaganda campaign via the mainstream media to derail any advance achieved.
I do not intend to discredit any movement that seeks other goals, there are many other vital causes, but after careful consideration, we must conclude that any movement for change that does not first address these three core systemic issues is ultimately futile. In a rigged government, economy and media system, those who already have the power have all the leverage they need to overturn or block any changes that they don’t want. Until these systemic problems are fixed, we will find our efforts continually undermined.
Even at this late hour, there is still no organized resistance to the Economic Elite’s shortsighted and pathological accumulation of wealth and power. We are confronted with a crisis of unprecedented scale. Most of our systems of defense have been toppled. Our future has gone up in flames.
“These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country…” – Thomas Paine, Common Sense
Unless we urgently rise up, we will all face devastating consequences. This is not grandiose hyperbole; this is one person who knows how the game is played pleading to other aware people. We must organize on these three core common ground issues NOW.
If we do not organize and fight, we will live an increasingly difficult life of struggle, servitude and debt slavery – where the only freedom we will have is in a mass media-induced delusion.
