But with all that power, the police is directed to violate the protestors civil rights. [...]

This is so wonderful, and going to be expensive. Is there a trust fund somewhere set up where we can donate money to help with the filing cost and legal fees? As a social worker, healer, mother, and indept to student loans for a psyd….I support this movement, I support massive change, I support academia, philosophers (all great societies had philosphers in the Senate. Its time, its peaceful, and its time to see American Patriots.

Remember Haymarket affair? Remember the Homestead Strike? Remember the Colorado coal strikes? Remember the Pullman Strikes? I have never seen where it says the police take the time to consider anything other than to follow the chain of command and do what they are told. Given the choices they have, they will always take the path of least resistance and that has little to do with freedom or liberty, but only to enforce the law, no matter how coorupt it might be. They make it their specialty to only enforce the law and let the courts decide if it is right or wrong, but in the meantime, enforce it with whatever tools are at hand, with as much brutality as is needed to get complance. End of story.

Your comparisons are out of place, those incidents where caused by private police and security guards paid for by companies. This is the NYPD a government controlled department.

Haymarket was the Chicago Police, Colorado coal strikes it was the Colorado National Guard, the Pullman Strike it was US Marshalls, The Homestead Strike is the only exception and the Marshall was contacted to intercede and refused, which gives even this strike a sanction by government controled entites, so I stand by my previous statements.
